Mom comes to Visit

My mom was in town all week for BYU education week. 12 friends of hers all came together and stayed in the dorms. Thursday night i got invited to hangout with all of them. We went to Zupas for dinner (love that place), and then most of us all went to a dance club . Someone new the owner and its a new dance club in provo so we went to check it out. It was Latino night and pretty much were the only ones in their for a while before some Latino's came and thought we were weird. Bunch of mom's dancing and being goofy. I had so much fun with them that night. Education week ended Friday so my mom stayed and spent the night with me. We had a fun girls night which included dinner at P.F. Chang's (mom has a gift card so it was free), ordered amazing vegetarian Tofu lettuce wraps, and ginger chicken with broccoli. After dinner went to the mall and mom bought me a few cute things, went to get frozen yogurt at yo-zone which my mom loves, then to the grocery store and mom bought me a few items that i needed to stock up on. Then came back to my apt and talked about her lesson for Sunday about avoiding degrading media influences. Saturday got up and we went to buckle to get my mom a shirt and necklace that i had bought the week before she came that she saw and wanted. Stopped by my cousin Jami's and saw her cute family and new baby boy she had early that week and got a stock of monavie juice. So fun to have her in town and spend girl time with her. I am so grateful for her example and all she has done for me. Am so lucky to have such a awesome best friend as my mom.

Long Boarding

Last night went long boarding for the first time in a long time. A group of people in my ward were all getting together to go to dairy queen to get ice cream at 10:30 at night but were using different ways their. In the group included roller bladders, bikers, long boarders and a scooter, and a few people drove. It was so funny to see a big group of us all with different transportation methods ridding on the streets going to Dairy Queen. I was proud of myself in well i did on the long board and now will be long boarding a lot more thanks for my brother Jake for letting me borrow his long board while living here in Provo.

Medical Issues

I don't think i have ever seen so many doctors in such a short time period. I think i should start being more careful. In the past 2 months i have seen a doctor for my foot. One night after playing sand volleyball with friends my friend Jason Ferrell decided to run back to our apt and i said i would run with him. Following his lead and trying to beat the cars back cutting through campus came to a concrete wall see Jason jump down without any problem follow his lead a bit nervous seeing its a pretty good jump and come down onto concrete and instantly my right foot is in pain. My foot swells up and I get worried because i cant walk normal and so i go to urgent care a few days later and get x-rays and get it checked out to make sure i haven't broken it.After a few weeks of it still hurting see a podiatrist and get news that i have sprained a few ligaments in my foot. Get put in a boot for several weeks. Yesterday (Saturday night) was hanging out with my friend Ian and find out that night he has been recovering from pink eye. I get a little worried when my eyes start bothering me Sunday night. Wake up in the middle of the night and my right eye is swollen and both eyes are red, producing puss are really watery and are itchy. Monday morning go to instant care and am told that my cold that i have had has spread to my eyes. Said it might be something viral. The doctor gave me a prescription for some eyes drops so after leaving instant care go spend more money on medical issues and buy my prescription. Going to see the podiatrist again in a week so will spend money again for the visit. I think after 1 urgent care visit, soon to be 2 podiatrist visits, 1 instant care visit that i should start being a little more careful. All these visits within a 3 month time period.

EFY

This summer has been the best and fulfilling summer ever. EFY for 5 wks gave me the chance to experience so many miracles and see so many lives change including my own. I had the chance to get to know so many kids that would make me laugh, smile, bring frustration, and headaches. Memories of Efy 1. Seeing the gospel change lives.. (only imagine what a mission would be like) 2. Helping youth feel the love their Savior has for them 3. Helping them realize who they are 4. Lack of sleep and some weeks not even getting a nap. The youth wear you out. 5. 3-4 Hour naps on Saturday 6 Seeing Harry Potter with Efy counselors 7. Going to H&M in Vegas 8. Seeing my life change by learning and gaining a stronger testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints 9. Getting to know new friends ( teenagers and young adults) 9. Dancing to Hannah Montana & singing it at the tops of my lungs 10. Seeing footloose at Tuacahn in St. George 11. Laughing a lot 12. Eating Cafeteria Food for 5 wks Efy was the best thing and being able to help certain kids with their struggles in life and knowing and seeing that i was able to help some kids put a smile on my face daily. Its exhausting but the most rewarding experience i have ever had. Went to Flagstaff, Arizona for 2 wks, Ephraim, Utah 1 wk, Las Vegas 1 wk, Cedar City 1 wk So grateful work let me off to do EFY all summer.
