4th of July

Provo, Utah has a big celebration for the 4th of July that goes for 3 days. Its called the Freedom Festival and on July 3 people stake out their camping spots, set camp up to sleep on the side of the street, play games all night long just to get a good spot to see the parade on the fourth of july. Had no idea their were so many festivities for the 4th of July here in Utah. July 3 stayed out with friends till 2am enjoying the Pre-fourth of July festivities, (drinking Slurpee's, chatting with friends, motorcycle ride in the rain July 4 woke up early to ride with my friend in my ward on his motorcycle in a parade, watch the freedom day parade (4th of July parade), floated down the Provo river, ate at Chadders, played skum, watched fireworks.

Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple

Had the chance to go to the Oquirrh Mountain open house and it was so amazing. My friend Danielle and I met up with my cousins the Hallsted's and their friends Roxanne and Neil who are in town and all went together. I learned the meaning behind the name "Oquirrh" which means "shinning, glowing" mountain and that is truly is a temple that shines. While we were standing in line, we could see the steeples of the Jordan River, Draper, and Salt Lake City temples. Wow! Temples will only continue to dot the earth. I love the temple and feel to blessed to of been able to attend the open house.
